Responsible Dog Owners Group of Illinois, Inc. was formed in 2007.
It is a public service organization.

Our mission:

• To formulate alternative legislation to that which infringes upon the rights of people to own or use their dogs.
• To attend council, commissioner, and committee meetings on the state, county, or municipal levels.
• To conduct aggressive letter writing campaigns to city and county councils, state and federal representatives, and the media.
• To keep the dog-owning public informed of any legislation directly concerning ownership and use of dogs.
• To actively work to cause reasonable dog legislation to be enacted.
• To oppose legislation that infringes upon any citizen’s right to responsibly own animals.
• To actively fight legislation that undermines the right to own, show, hunt, or breed dogs, including strictures on breeding, mandatory spay/neuter, mandatory microchipping, guardianship legislation, and breed-specific codes or ordinances.
• To promote the responsible ownership, care, nurture, and treatment of dogs.
